About

A Tesseract is a 4-dimensional cube also called a hypercube. I first heard about tesseracts from A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle, she used them like wormholes to transport her characters across galaxies, exciting stuff to a 4th grader. I was/am intrigued by the idea of moving though space and time, like so many of us are.

The process of working with cloth and yarn, 2D objects, and forming them into 3D objects, is a process that moves through time in a linear way. At the same time however engaging in hand crafts connects us to our pasts, the crafters, artisans, family and friends that have come before us and will be in the future. Crafts are  my tesseract, moving me through time and space to the past and future.

Here you will find lots about my fiber arts projects, other folks work that I find inspireing, and bits about things that interest me.  I started this blog as a way to kind of keep track of things for myself and so that friends spread all over the country at this point, can have a way to know a bit about what I am up to. I hope you will comment on my work, share your own ideas, projects and the things that move you through time and space.
